Co-hosted with the Imagining Wellbeing project in the, Centre for Urban Wellbeing. This workshop is the first in a series exploring the lived effects of various kinds of environment. We’ll invite you to reflect on how you feel in current spaces on or off campus, hear from others in a panel discussion, and engage with creative ideas for alternative approaches to built environments.

Learn about the double empathy problem. We’ll screen a short (satirical) film just produced by UOB academics and have some discussion over tea and coffee about the complexities of empathy across forms of difference, especially in the context of autism.

In this brief presentation, I venture some thoughts about the political theology of digital wellbeing with a riff on Nick Walker’s ‘Neuroqueer Heresies’

This event is being co-hosted by T&R EDI and a group of MA students studying at the University of Birmingham. The workshop aims to explore Queer theology across a range of religious traditions – so towards that end we’ve invited a few speakers to join us and help frame up the conversation, including Amanullah De Sondy (University College Cork).

I’m learned a huge amount from the members of this colloquia who have been working for 2 years to compile theological insights, best practices and outreach strategies which can more intentionally connect with Black Majority churches in the UK. I’ll be sharing a bit of my experience decolonising British environmentalism over the past few years and getting input from this group of experts.

At the network event, several of us shared a stories about commoning and for my contribution I brought a piece of speculative sci-fi in hopes this might open up some of the issues involved in commons work.

I hosted two break-out sessions with about 150 community religious leaders on the subject of Hate Crime for the West Midlands Mayor’s Faith Leaders Summit.

I hosted a session for members of Quinton Christ Church on why Christians should care about climate change. It was great fun! Alas, I forgot to record my comments, so nothing to share here.

As part of my ongoing research on the Mapping Community project, we ran a laboratory day in the Digital Cultures Studio here at UOB. I presented a brief keynote with some of my thoughts on mapping, data research, and empowering churches to make better organisational decisions in the full light of data.

In this presentation I summarise pedagogical research conducted at Edinburgh around technology enhanced learning in TRS teaching, particularly using tools like wordpress and omeka and student blogging.
